AQUALYX Fat Dissolving Treatment

Why AQUALYX?

AQUALYX is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, removing fat deposits (adiposity) from areas that are resistant to diet, exercise and weight loss. It also provides cosmetic improvement to stubborn deposits of excess body and facial fat.

AQUALYX breaks down the fat by breaking open the fat cell membrane and releasing the fat, which you then metabolise in your kidneys and liver and excrete through the alimentary tract naturally.

Areas which can be treated: Face, double chin and pre-jowl sulcus, upper arms, armpits, waist hips, saddlebags, knees, buttock, chest, inner thighs, buffalo hump and lipomas (if confirmed diagnosis).

Skin tightens, cellulite improves and fat cells permanently removed.

FAQs

What is AQUALYX?

AQUALYX is a solution of deoxycholic acid, a compound which has been used in various fields of human medicine since its discovery. Present also in the human body, deoxycholic acid is used in the emulsification of fats for the absorption in the intestine.

How does it work?
It causes cell lysis. Interestingly, it’s non-selective, meaning it lyses all cells. However, it has a greater affinity for fatty tissue than protein tissue, so fat tissue is more susceptible to break down. It prompts a mild inflammation in the skin afterwards, which helps clear the cellular debris.

When injected into fatty tissue, AQUALYX disrupts the membrane of fat cells, leading to cell breakdown. There’s also an inflammatory response and some tissue contraction.
